60 Watt Silver Lining is for me the strongest Eitzel record so far- though parts of West, most of The Invisible Man & all of Songs of Love (released when he was still in American Music Club) are of high quality. This album has plenty in common with AMC's final album San Francisco- Daniel Pearson & Bruce Kaphan surviving from the AMC years/5(16).

American Music Club disbanded in , and Eitzel focused on his solo career, releasing 60 Watt Silver Lining in It was a surprisingly smooth, jazz-pop departure. Also in , Eitzel contributed to the AIDS benefit album Offbeat: A Red Hot Soundtrip produced by the Red Hot Organization.
